On the section of the Medakovo – Ozimice highway, the left tunnel pipe of the Crni vrh tunnel, one of the key facilities on this section of Corridor 5C, was breached today.
The Crni Vrh tunnel, 2,200 meters long, is one of the most significant technical points on the 21.7-kilometer Medakovo – Ozimice section, which is also the largest single section on Corridor 5C through the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The works on this section are performed by the Turkish company Cengiz Insaat Sanayi ve Ticaret AS, while supervision is performed by the consortium Yuksel PROJE AS and Trasa doo Sarajevo.
In parallel with the work on the excavation and the primary substructure in the left tunnel tube, the work on the secondary lining is being carried out, which is about 95 percent completed so far. Work has also begun on the central drainage system and on the road construction, while preparations for the start of work on electromechanical installations are in the final stage.
When it comes to the right tunnel pipe, the excavation is currently taking place parallel to both faces, and about 25 percent of the excavation work remains.
The Medakovo – Ozimice section begins after the Medakovo loop and leads south through the settlements of Medakovo, Alispahići, Novi Šeher, Ljubatovići, Strupina, Radojicići and other smaller areas, all the way to the Ozimice loop where it ends.
The total value of the contracted works is about 361.75 million euros without VAT, and the deadline for the completion of the works is 30 months from the mobilization of the contractor.
The project is financed through a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) and a grant from the European Union within the Investment Framework for the Western Balkans (WBIF). Klix.
