Paris Saint-Germain is obliged by a court decision to pay Kylian Mbappé 60 million euros (about 52.5 million pounds) in the name of unpaid wages and bonuses, the French court decided.
In November, Mbappé filed a dispute before the Labor Court in Paris, demanding as much as 263 million euros from his former club, which ended the months-long legal war between the two parties.
Mbappé demanded 263 million, PSG retaliated with a lawsuit
French national team player and current one striker of Real Madrid he claimed that PSG owed him 55 million euros in unpaid wages, as well as additional compensation for breach of contract and poor treatment by the club.
The Parisians, on the other hand, fought back with a counterclaim weighing 240 million eurosseeking compensation for the failed transfer of Mbappé to Saudi Al Hilal in 2023, which was supposed to amount to as much as 300 million euros.
Court: PSG did not pay three monthly salaries and bonuses
The court, however, ruled that Mbappé is only entitled to part of the requested amount.
It was found that PSG did not pay three monthly salaries for the period from April to June 2024, as well as the ethical bonus and signing bonus that were stipulated in his contract.
Based on that, the club from Paris must pay a total of 60 million euros.
Contentment in Mbappé’s camp
Mbappé’s legal representative, Frederick Casserostated that the verdict was expected:
We are satisfied with this decision. This is the epilogue that could be expected when salaries were not paid, he said.
Departure without compensation to Real Madrid
Kylian Mbappé left PSG as a free agent in the summer of 2024 and signed for Real Madrid, ending one of the most turbulent eras in the history of the Parisian club.
