The Municipal Court in Zenica rejected the FBiH Government’s request to extend the court hearing scheduled for June 25 to determine the conditions for opening bankruptcy proceedings against the bankruptcy debtor Nova Željezara Zenica, reports reports.
Although the FBiH Government in two letters, one of which was urgent, requested that the bankruptcy hearing be extended, given that the law on the introduction of extraordinary administration was proposed and then adopted in both Houses of the FBiH Parliament, the Court remained with its earlier position.

“Regarding your inquiry, you are informed that the court in case number 43 0 St 268975 25 St did not prolong the hearing in order to determine the conditions for the opening of bankruptcy proceedings against the bankruptcy debtor Nova Željezara Zenica doo, Bulevar Kralja Tvrtko I No. 17, Zenica, which is scheduled for June 25, 2026 at 12:00 in this court building, courtroom no. 29/II, says the answer of Rubine Begović, Head of the Department of the Court Registry and Reception Office of the Municipal Court of Zenica.
Namely, the Law on the Introduction of Extraordinary Administration was officially published on June 17 in the Official Gazette of the FBiH, and will enter into force in seven days. This means that the Government will take over the company. However, if bankruptcy is opened, everything will be complicated.
By the way, the opening of bankruptcy was requested by the Management of Nova Željezara Zenica, headed by co-owner Ahmed Fejzić. The bankruptcy is vehemently opposed by the workers and the FBiH Government, which also adopted the lex “Lex specialis” for the Nova železazara Zenica in order to save jobs and jobs and restart production.
