The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the proposal of the Attorney General’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, made two decisions on the appointment of ad hoc members of the Negotiating Body of Bosnia and Herzegovina in procedures for the peaceful settlement of international investment disputes.
This is a procedure based on a request for an amicable settlement of an investment dispute, which was submitted by the law office of Goran Bubić from Banja Luka on behalf of five investors, two citizens of the Republic of Slovenia, Lenart Skok from Ljubljana and Blaž Banjac from Ljutomer, and three citizens of the Republic of Serbia, Osman Ćelović from Prijepolje, Milutin Dobrilović from Belgrade and Adis Ćelović from Prijepolje.
By the decisions, one member (ad hoc member) from the Republic Administration for Geodetic and Property-Legal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska, the Municipality of Rudo and the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Srpska was appointed to the Negotiating Body.
At the same time, representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Mining of the Republic of Srpska and the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Srpska were appointed as ad hoc members in the proceedings of the Notice of Dispute and the Intention to Initiate Arbitration Proceedings before the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), which was submitted by the law office “BAROŠ & PARTNERS” on behalf of the business company Kermas Energija doo Zagreb.
Ad hoc members will join the previously formed Negotiating Body of Bosnia and Herzegovina for peaceful settlement of international investment disputes, with the aim of ensuring timely, coordinated and efficient action of competent institutions in representing and protecting the interests of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the process of peaceful settlement of international investment disputes.
The negotiating body consists of one representative of the Permanent Team for Negotiations, representatives of the Attorney General’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the state ministries of finance and treasury, foreign trade and economic relations, and justice, in addition to ad hoc members, who are appointed during the process of each specific request of a foreign investor for a peaceful resolution of the dispute, writes Klix.
