The Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that the technical problems that appeared in the previous weeks in the biometric data collection system were successfully resolved, which enabled the smooth continuation of issuing visas and conducting registration procedures for persons seeking international protection in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to the Ministry, expert teams carried out the necessary technical interventions and tests, after which it was confirmed that the system is fully functional again.
Due to earlier difficulties, the process of issuing visas for foreign citizens, as well as taking biometric data from asylum seekers, was slowed down. By eliminating the problem, the conditions were created for the regular performance of all procedures that require the use of the biometric system.
The BiH Ministry of Security thanked all competent institutions and officials who participated in solving the problem, as well as citizens and foreign nationals for their understanding and patience during the period of difficult system operation.
It was emphasized that the Ministry continues activities on the improvement and maintenance of information systems with the aim of ensuring the continuity of service provision, increasing the efficiency of administrative procedures and additionally strengthening the security and reliability of the process of managing migration and issuing visas.
Re-establishing the full functionality of the system represents an important step towards more efficient work of competent services and faster provision of services to users in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
