Depay was supposed to arrive in the Netherlands on Sunday night, but he could not travel due to theft.
The Netherlands representation, led by Ronald Koeman, expect qualification matches for the World Cup against Malta away on Thursday and Finland at home on Sunday.
The KNVB (Dutch Football Association) announced that DEPAY “makes everything possible” to arrive as soon as possible and join the team.
“This is an unfortunate situation, primarily for Memphis, but also for us. Of course, you want to start preparations with the complete team, but there are circumstances that are out of our control. We will find ourselves in the camp as soon as possible,” Koeman said.
DePay became the best shooter in the history of the Dutch national team last month, prestigling Robin out of Persie, after reaching the facts of 52 hits with two goals against Lithuania in 104 appearances.
