Ministry for Spatial Planning, Transport and Communications and Environmental Protection of the Zenica-Doboj Canton today signed 80 contracts with users whose projects were selected through a public call for financing projects of sports clubs, public institutions and non-governmental organizations in the field of environmental protection. At the same time, a new significant investment in Municipality of Tešanj.
Line minister Adnan Shabani announced that the transfer contract will be signed this week 250,000 KM to the Municipality of Tešanj for procurement of a new sewage treatment plantwhich will implement another important project in the field of environmental protection.
The Minister pointed out that the Ministry and Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton continuously invest in projects that contribute to the preservation of the environment and the development of environmental awareness.
This year’s public call received 135 applications, and 80 projects received financial support. An eye is provided for this purpose 150,000 KMwhich is 50,000 KM more than the previous year. Individual amounts of support range from 500 to 5,000 KM.
Prime Minister Nezir Pivic he emphasized that the ZDK Government continues to transparently support projects that contribute to environmental protection and raising environmental awareness, especially among young people.
According to Minister Šabani, among the supported projects there is a large number of activities aimed at cleaning riverbeds, parks and other public areas, and the goal of the program is to involve as many citizens and organizations as possible in environmental protection.
Announced investment from 250,000 KM in the new landfill water purifier represents one of this year’s most significant investments in the field of environmental protection in the area of Tešanj municipality, and its realization should contribute to more efficient management of landfill water and protection of natural resources.
