The match started brilliantly for the guests, and in the 13th minute Ismael Kone checked Mike Maignano and put Sassuolo ahead. Milan then took control of the game, and in the 29th minute, Adrien Rabiot missed a colossal chance, as his shot was brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Arijanet Murić.
The Rossoneri’s pressure paid off in the 34th minute, when Davide Bartesaghi scored at the second post to make it 1:1. At the beginning of the second half, Bartesaghi was again precise and Milan reached the turning point. However, both goals in the following period were canceled – the first due to a foul by Pavlović, and the second due to an offside by Rabiot.
Milan seemed to be in control of the game, but in the 77th minute, Armand Lauriente, after a double pass with a teammate, checked Maignan with a nice shot and brought Sassuolo to a 2:2 tie. Milan tried to win, but the visiting defense defended successfully, and the post and Maignan were lucky in the end.
Bh. national team member Tarik Muharemović played a good game in defense of Sassuolo and showed quality at San Siro, although in the second half he received a public reprimand for objections. Luka Modrić played the entire match for Milan, but without much effect.
Milan remains first in the table with 32 points, but the situation may change after the Udinese – Napoli and Genoa – Inter games. Sassuolo once again showed that red and black teams are not easy for this Italian club, securing an important point at the San Siro.
