The general secretary of the Croatian Football Association (HNS) and the president of the Zagreb Football Association (ZNS) Tomislav Svetina found himself in the center of attention after he was filmed in the restaurant “Udovice” near Mostar in the company of fugitive from Croatian justice Zdravko Mamić.
The meeting took place just after the New Year, and together with Svetina and Mamić, who was legally convicted of economic crime in Dinamo, there was also the director of Lokomotive Bozidar Šikić and the president of the Karlovac Football Association Neven Spreitzer, writes Slobodna Dalmacija, which also published the photos.
Svetina, however, firmly claims that it was a completely accidental meeting and denies that it was any kind of arranged meeting.
There is no talk of any meeting or planned agreement with MamićSvetina told Večernji list, explaining how he is with his family and friends traveled from Dubrovnik. After visiting Medjugorje, they stopped for lunch at the aforementioned restaurant.
Where other individuals go and which restaurants they go to, I can’t influence that, he added. The general secretary of the HNS emphasizes how with Mamić it has no relationship and that media constructions are malicious and ridiculous. I haven’t seen Zdravko Mamić for more than seven years. The malicious theses and false constructions that have appeared are so far-fetched that it is everything a bit funny, he ordered.
When asked if the fugitive from Croatian justice still has an influence on the umbrella organization of Croatian football, Svetina was explicit. Zdravko Mamić does not and cannot influence the work of these organizations. Those who want to destabilize the HNS will have to find other topicshe said, reports Index.hr.
