The suspected organizer of the explosions on the North Stream gas pipeline has been extradited from Italy to Germany, judicial sources told dpa on Thursday.
A 49-year-old Ukrainian citizen was handed over to the German police after three months spent in Italian custody.
They are expected to arrive soon in Karlsruhe, where the headquarters of the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office is located.
The protracted legal battle over the extradition was resolved last week in Italy’s highest court.
German prosecutors accuse a man of causing gas pipeline explosions in the Baltic Sea in 2022.
