The Ministry of Labor, Social Policy and Refugees of Zenica-Doboj Canton was solemnly signed by the Protocol on Cooperation and Support Fortress Forts from the Area of this Canton.
The Protocol was signed by the Minister of Work, Social Policy and Refugees of Zenica-Doboj Canton, dr. Antonio Šimunović, and National Director of SOS Children’s Villages of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Malik Garibia.
The signing of the Protocol was formalized by additional empowered cooperation in foster care with the aim of providing systematic and continuous support and sustainability of foster care system in Zenica-Doboj Canton.
On that occasion, the opening of the SOS Center for Foster In Zenica was announced, which will be dedicated to support, education and empowerment of foster families. The center will contribute to improving the quality of foster care and ensure that each child is growing up in a warm and supportive family environment.
– Foster care is one of the strongest expressions of solidarity and responsibilities of the community. With this protocol, we confirm that foster families are not alone and that the system is standing with them. Our vision is that through the opening of foster care centers throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, we create a network of support available to each foster family and every child without parental care. The Center will begin in Zenica in November and will serve to monitor and strengthen the breadwinners, children and professionals, and will enable the continuing implementation of mandatory trainees for potential breadwinners in Zenica-Doboj Canton, “Malik Garibia said.
Minister Simunovic said that the obligation of the line minister is to ensure the appropriate family accommodation and protection of children in foster families, as well as to improve the support of foster families in their noble role in society in cooperation.
– The signing of the Protocol and the announcement of the Opening of the Center for Foster In Zenica shows that we do important steps towards strengthening this type of child care, Minister Antonio Šimunović emphasized.
The signing of the Protocol once again has been confirmed by the common commitment to creating conditions in which each child will grow up loved, safely and supported – because every child deserves a family.
