Zrinjski was narrowly defeated on Thursday in the away game in Poland by Rakow, and Plemić’s coach Igor Štimac shared his impressions after the game at the press conference.
Zrinjski played a good game, and the central moment of the match happened towards the end of the first half.
The spectators saw the only goal at the end of the first half, when accurate from the penalty spot was Brunes. The penalty for the home team was awarded after Nemanja Bilbija played with his hand in his own penalty area in stoppage time of the first half.
He tried in the second half Igor Štimac put all their strength into the attack in order to catch up, but the results did not change in the sequel.
Congratulations to the Rakowa team on their victory. I think we are like HŠK Zrinjski presented in a very high-quality way and that we surprised many who visited the stadium today and watched the game, and my impression is somehow, I hope it is not subjective, that we deserved more than defeat from this game, began Štimac.
The Croatian expert on the bench of Zrinjski also commented decisive goal which happened in deep stoppage time of the first half, more precisely a penalty kick was awarded in the third minute of stoppage timeand the official extension was just one minute.
I’m sad about that and I objected to the referee because he has a certain reason when compensation is shown and how long it lasts and when the game should end, i.e. half-time. For that reason alone angry because the goal that was scored came after the end of extra time and the referee with that penalty rewarded the team that did absolutely nothing for us in the first half. We had a stable control of their game, we stood well in the middle block and we had at least three good situations in the first half from which we could score, Stimac said.
