While athletes from the West Herzegovina County have been winning national and international awards for years, the institutions that should provide support remain silentIvan Soldo, three-time national champion and the best cyclist in BiH, told the Jabuka.tv portal.
Soldo is in the last season won all the key domestic titles, confirming his dominance on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s trails and his place among the best cyclists in the country. In addition, in 2024 there was also champion of the Balkans in mountain biking., and this year he was bronze medalist at the Balkan MTB Marathon Championship.
However, apart from the company Lager doo Posušjewhich continuously provides him with support, and one grant from the Municipality of Posušje, his efforts and top results they are not supported by competent institutions in West Herzegovina County.

Unfortunately, athletes who invest their own money, time and effort, and in the process achieve top results, get nothing in return minimum institutional support which they deserve. Such an attitude discourages, forces young talents to give up and sends the message that results and work are worth less than acquaintances and political interestsSoldo points out.
He adds that if the county institutions want to keep athletes and proudly point out their achievements, it is time to stop ignoring those who really deserve support with their results.
