The Croatian handball team lost to Germany 31:28 in the semifinals of the European Championship, which was played in the Danish city of Herning. This was Croatia’s eighth game and second defeat in this tournament.
The team Dagur Sigurdsson will play on Sunday against the defeated team from the match between Denmark and Iceland.
I was satisfied with the first half even though we lost by two goals. All in all, the biggest difference in the end was the goalkeepers, Wolff was fantastic. With us, Kuzma only put the Germans under pressure towards the end. That goalkeeper’s performance changed our game a bit.
We were constantly chasing them, and when Germany is so confident, it’s hard to stop them. We will fight for bronze. We will look for all the strength that the boys have left we will give absolutely everything for a medal, said Croatia coach Dagur Sigurdsson after the match for RTL television, reports Index.hr.

We started the first half very well, we lacked getting back into defense. We started badly in the second half. We couldn’t score a goal. Everything was missing. But I’m proud of the team, they did their best. I know everyone is empty and dead, but the tournament is not over for us yet. We still have a chance for a medal. We have to forget this game, regenerate and try to win bronze.
We were close, we fought and returned goal after goal. But we started too late. We didn’t manage to equalize. Congratulations to Germany. They deserve to be in the final. It is difficult to describe what happened to us in the second half. Tiredness should not be an excuse. Germany has a strong defense and one of the best goalkeepers. Maybe we risked too little. We still have strength for bronze, Martinovic told RTL.
