The Minister of Labour, Social Policy and Refugees, Antonio Šimunović, today signed contracts on the allocation of budget funds to cantonal non-governmental organizations for the financing or co-financing of work programs or projects in the field of social protection, protection of civilian victims of war and protection of families with children, and protection of displaced persons and returnees, as well as contracts on the allocation of budget funds to cantonal representative organizations of persons with disabilities and civilian victims of war for the year 2026.
On the basis of the public call, the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton approved budget funds for: Society of Social Workers of Zenica-Doboj Canton, Association “MEDICA” Zenica, Center for Youth “INPUT”, Center for Women’s Rights, Association “PROSPERO” Zenica, Coalition of Organizations of People with Disabilities in Zenica-Doboj Canton, Association of Children and Youth with Diabetes in Zenica-Doboj Canton, Federation of Associations of Blind Citizens in Zenica-Doboj canton and the Union of Civil War Victims of the Zenica-Doboj Canton.
Also, after a public call for representative organizations of people with disabilities and civilian victims of war, the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton approved budget funds for: Association of children and young people with diabetes ZDK, Association of Blind Citizens Association of Zenica-Doboj Canton, Association “Dlan” Zenica, Association of Civil War Victims of Zenica-Doboj Canton, Association of Work Disabled Persons of Zenica-Doboj Canton and Association of Multiple Sclerosis Zenica-Doboj canton.
The signed contracts define the mutual rights and obligations of the contracting parties regarding the allocated spending of a total of 115,800.00 KM approved, of which 70,000.00 KM is based on the first public call and 45,800.00 KM based on the representativeness of the organizations.
Minister Šimunović confirmed his determination for good cooperation and support for organizations that contribute to a better position of user populations in these areas. He emphasized that the Zenica-Doboj Canton was the first in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to carry out the procedure of awarding representativeness to cantonal and municipal/city organizations of persons with disabilities and civilian victims of war, and that representative organizations were awarded funds in this way for the first time.
– In this way, we singled out a certain number of organizations that are bearers of positive stories and that will continue to be available and in coordination with our ministry for everything that was intended to be realized through our work plans – said Minister Šimunović.
The representatives of the organizations that signed the contract expressed their gratitude for the cooperation and transparent work of the line ministry, as well as the continued support and appreciation of the importance of cantonal non-governmental organizations.
