The Prime Minister of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, Nezir Pivić, today signed an agreement on the basis of salaries and other incomes for the next year with the representatives of the Union of Police and Civil Servants and Employees in the MUP ZDK and the Independent Union of Civil Servants and Employees in Civil Service Bodies, Judiciary and Public Institutions in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The aforementioned two trade unions, as well as the Independent Trade Union of Secondary and Higher Education, Education, Science and Culture ZDK, gave their consent to the ZDK Government’s proposal for the Budget of the Zenica-Doboj Canton for 2026. All trade unions praised the Government’s open approach and readiness for continuous social dialogue.
The signing of the agreement was also attended by Minister of Finance Dženana Čišija, Minister of Justice and Administration Nebojša Nikolić and Minister of Internal Affairs Emir Vračo.
– We continued a high-quality and open social dialogue with the unions, with the aim of timely harmonizing issues important to employees in the public sector. We thank them for their understanding and correct relationship. The government has committed itself that from July 1, 2026, salaries will be increased by at least 10 percent. As a result of a good dialogue, a decision was made to pay compensation until the end of this year, as well as compensation for the first six months of next year – said Prime Minister Pivić.
The Economic and Social Council for the area of Zenica-Doboj Canton previously supported the proposal of the ZDK Budget for 2026, planned in the amount of 740,889,300 KM.
The importance of continuous and high-quality social dialogue was emphasized, which was recognized as an example of an effective model of cooperation between partners in the process of preparing and harmonizing budget documents. It was assessed that timely discussions contribute to the stability and sustainability of cantonal finances.
