Saudi Arabia announced today that it executed six Iranians sentenced to death for drug smuggling, and in the past year, according to AFP data based on official data, a record 338 people were executed in that country.
Six Iranians were executed in Dammam, in eastern Saudi Arabia, for “secretly bringing hashish” into the country, the Saudi Interior Ministry said without specifying the date of execution. The announcement was made by the official SPA agency.
In 2024, 117 people, including 85 foreign nationals, were executed for drug trafficking in Saudi Arabia, according to AFP data.
