The labor market in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been undergoing major changes in recent years. While certain sectors are recording employment growth, employers are finding it increasingly difficult to find suitable staff, especially in occupations that require expertise, experience or specific skills.
According to data and trends on the labor market, among the most sought-after workers are salespeople, salespeople, drivers, construction workers, welders, locksmiths, electricians, mechanical technicians, waiters, cooks, nurses and caregivers. There is also a great demand for IT experts, accountants, engineers, and workers in production and logistics.
Employers point out that it is particularly difficult to find qualified craftsmen, while in catering and construction, the problem is further increased by the departure of labor to the countries of the European Union.
At the same time, the demand for administrative workers, experts in the fields of finance, marketing and digital technologies, as well as for employees in the customer support sector, is also growing.
Experts believe that the labor shortage will continue in the coming years, which is why companies will have to offer more competitive wages, better working conditions and additional benefits in order to attract and retain quality workers.
