According to the report, the Russian proposal is similar to previous agreements with New Delhi, within which the MIG and Su-30 MKI planes are produced in India. If the proposal is accepted, the state company Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) will cooperate with the Russian firm on the production of these aircraft.
If the parties agree that the products in India, the first two squadrils would be delivered to the “Fly-Away” state (ready to use), while Hal could produce additional 3-5 squadron in its drive in Nashik.
The plans are still in the initial phase and are separated from the multi-purpose combat aircraft program (MRFA), which implements Indian Air Force (IAF), stands in the report.
