The embassy’s reaction followed the crash of a drone on the roof of a house in the Romanian city of Galați, which, according to Russian diplomats, was declared Russian even before any evidence was presented.
The statement pointed out that earlier accusations against Russia, including those related to drone crashes and alleged pollution of the Dniester River, remained without concrete evidence despite Moscow’s demands. According to the embassy, such information did not achieve the desired effect in the public, but opened questions about the real motives of their authors.
The Russian side warns that external actors could encourage Chisinau to new provocations by using unmanned aerial vehicles of unknown origin. At the same time, he calls on the leadership of Moldova to avoid moves that could lead to further escalation and emphasizes that Russia has no aggressive intentions towards that country.
The Russian ambassador to Moldova, Oleg Ozerov, previously stated that the Moldovan authorities are accusing Russia of various problems without evidence, following what he claims are political guidelines from the European Union.
During the past year, several unmanned aerial vehicles and parts of missiles were found on the territory of Moldova. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova accused Russia of violating the airspace, calling it a hostile act. However, the Russian side claims that the origin of the found aircraft has never been reliably determined and recalls that in earlier cases, the remains of missiles from Ukrainian anti-aircraft systems were found.
