Brazilian football legend Ronaldo Nazario has attracted public attention by stating that Cristiano Ronaldo, although outstanding, is not the best player of all time.
In an interview with ESPN, the former two-time world champion and striker of clubs such as Real Madrid, Inter and Barcelona, pointed out that the Portuguese has an impressive career and a place among the ten best footballers in history, but that he would not place him at the very top.
“Cristiano scored goals in every possible way, even when he changed positions. That’s extremely difficult, he’s certainly among the best ever. But the best? I wouldn’t agree with that,” Ronaldo said.
The Brazilian also spoke modestly about his place in football.
“I don’t like to get into arguments about who is the best. I prefer to let others talk about what I have achieved on the field,” he added.
