Revenues from indirect taxes last year amounted to 11 billion and 541 million KM and are higher by 901 million KM or 8.47 percent compared to the same period in 2023 when they amounted to 10 billion and 640 million KM.
The Directorate for Indirect Taxation has collected the largest amount of indirect taxes since the establishment of the institution.
In the past year, there was no increase in the rates of indirect taxes, but the growth of income was conditioned partly by inflationary trends and partly by the activities undertaken by the ITA, they stated from this institution.
Users received as much as 1 billion and 15 million more
After collecting revenues from indirect taxes, the ITA first returns VAT to taxpayers who have exercised their legal right to a refund, and on that basis, the Administration returned KM 2 billion and 91 million to the economy in 2024. The rest of the collected income was distributed to beneficiaries.
– Thus, the net collected revenues that were distributed to users in the period January-December 2024, namely the state, the entities and the District of Brčko, amounted to 9 billion and 449 million KM and are higher by 1 billion and 15 million KM in comparison on the income that users received from the Single Account for the same period in 2023 – the ITA stated.
Most of the excess income ended up with the entity and Brčko District
An amount of KM 1 billion and 20 million has been allocated for the financing of state institutions in 2024. A total of 5 billion and 185 million KM was allocated to the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2 billion and 905 million KM to the Republic of Srpska and 291 million KM to the Brčko District. Based on the special toll for the construction of highways and the construction and reconstruction of other roads (0.25 KM), the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina received an additional 241 million KM, the RS 159 million KM and the Brčko District 8 million KM.
