Former Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher’s ex-wife, Cora, has sent a message following reports that her ex-husband will soon marry his partner Étienne Bousquet-Cassagne.
The decision to marry comes only 19 months after Ralf publicly admitted that he is homosexual.
Schumacher (50) and Cora got married in 2001 at a lavish ceremony in Salzburg. They have been married for 13 years and have a son together David Schumacher (24).
Their relationship, however, drastically worsened after the divorce and Ralph’s public admission that he was in a same-sex relationship. The conflict then escalated in public, and Cora at one point even burned her wedding dress. She also asked her ex-husband to leave her alone so she could, she said, “heal in peace”, claiming that “wasted her best years” in that marriage.
According to the German Bild, Ralf Schumacher will be in May this year to marry Étienne Bousquet-Cassagne (36) in the south of France. Despite the stormy past and the long-term break in contact, Cora has now sent a message of reconciliation, reports Klix.
In a statement to BILD, she said that she wishes him all the best.
Steven and I wish Ralf and Étienne all the best and good luck.
The Steven that Cora mentions is her current partner, Steven Bo Beckendama 44-year-old American.
Bild states that Cora’s message comes despite the fact that she had not had personal contact with Ralf for yearswho went public with his love for Bousquet-Cassagne in July 2024, nor with their son David.
According to the same source, the wedding celebration should last three days in Saint-Tropezwhere Schumacher and his partner spend most of the year.
However, Ralph’s decision to remarry it also caused some criticism. An unnamed friend reportedly told Bild that it was a surprise.
It’s a surprise. Ralph used to say, paraphrasing Oscar Wilde, that the one who marries a second time does not really deserve the first divorce.
After the divorce, Cora faced numerous accusations related to their marriage, including claims that it is a “marriage of sham” or that was paid to marry Schumacher on the basis of a ten-year contract. She resolutely denied such allegations several times.
Speaking last year on a German comedian’s show Oliver PocherCora again dismissed those rumors.

She added that during the marriage she did not know about Ralph’s sexual orientation.
Of course I asked several times. I didn’t know, otherwise I wouldn’t have married him. I wouldn’t throw my life away for any money.
Cora also pointed out that the allegations of a “staged marriage” hurt deeply, stressing that there was no silence agreement in the marriage contract.
