Progress on the road to the EU: The law on border control of BiH was adopted in the House of Representatives

At the emergency session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a draft law on border service was adopted.

The law was adopted with 20 votes “for”, 10 representatives were against, and nine representatives voted “abstain”. All abstentions are representatives from SNSD.

Also, the conclusion was adopted today that this law should be referred to the House of People under an urgent procedure.

When it comes to another important law, which is needed on the way to the European Union – the Personal Data Protection Bill, it will still be debated through the amendment phase in the House of Representatives.

Let us remind you that the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted these two laws on December 17 of the previous year. Then, an emergency session of the House of Representatives was scheduled for the same day, but it was canceled at the insistence of representatives from Republika Srpska.

Then the session was scheduled for January 16, but also at the initiative of representatives from the RS, specifically the SNSD, the EU path of our country was “blocked” again.
