Organized by the Ministry of Labor, Social Policy and Refugees of Zenica-Doboj Canton, with the support of Catholic Relief Services (CRS) within the project Step, on 17.07.2025. The program was presented to the Program of Measures to Support Young people from the public concern system in the independence process in Zenica-Doboj Canton.
This program was prepared by a working group, in which the representatives of the Ministry of Labor, Social Policy and Refugees, the city of Zenica, the city of Visoko, the centers for social work from Zenica and Visoko, and the representative of the domestic family Zenica.
The program defines the measures and activities of support to young people, with the aim of establishing system support and provide resources to enable them and facilitate involvement in society. This provides young people with support to create their own community roles and contribute to personal and social progress. This program is the first step towards the finding of institutional and local solutions to ensure support and the use of available community resources and cantons.
According to the Social Work Centers, during 2024. In Zenica-Doboj Canton, 155 children and young people were registered in institutions for children without parental care or foster families.
Support to young people who go out of public care systems is recognized through the Social Protection Development Strategy in the Federation of BiH, as well as through action plans and reform regulations that are in the procedure of adoption.
The presentation of the program was held in Zenica, and was attended by 45 representatives of the city and municipal services for social work, the Center for Social Women, the Institutions of the Small School, the Employment Service, and Non-Governmental Organizations.
