The Government of the Federation of BiH adopted a pilot program of the economic empowerment of women in rural areas for 2025. year, which envisages grant funds for agricultural trades in three cantons: Canton 10, Zenica-Doboj and Una-Sanski Canton.
The program is realized from the project “Women’s Development Drivers in Agriculture and Rural Areas”, based on a partnership agreement between the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and the United Nations for Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women – UN Women.
250,000 KM from donor funds under paragraphs under the “Subsidies of Private Enterprises and Entrepreneurs” were ensured for the implementation of the program. The funds are intended for:
Starting new agricultural crafts – Help women who want to start their own business in rural areas
Improving existing trades – Support for women who want to expand or modernize existing business
The Federal Ministry of Agriculture will allocate to end users in accordance with the partner agreement and defined criteria of the Pilot Program. The goal of the program is to introduce gender-sensitive investment mechanisms for sustainable involvement of women in a formal economy.
Federal Ministries of Agriculture and Finance, and the Decision shall enter into force on the day after its publication in the Official Gazette of the FBiH, in charge of the implementation of the Decision.
