Atalanta Bergamo, who are disappointingly 13th in the Italian league, appointed Raffaele Palladino as their new coach on Tuesday, the position left vacant by the departure of Croatian expert Ivan Jurić the previous day.
Raffaele Palladino has signed a contract with the Nerazzurri that is expiring June 30, 2027., the 2024 Europa League winners have been announced.
A former Italian national team player, 41-year-old Palladino began his coaching career in Monziinitially working with the junior teams before taking over the first team in 2022 and managing two seasons in Serie A. He then joined Florentineswhere he finished sixth in Serie A before surprisingly leaving the club last July after just one season.
Palladino takes over the reins of a team that has not yet recovered from the departure of its iconic coach Gian Piero Gasperini, who left for Roma after seven seasons in Bergamo.
Since August, “La Dea” (The Goddess) has won the only four gamestwo in the league and two in the Champions League, out of a total of fifteen matches played.
They come into the league on the back of two successive defeats and, after the eleventh round, are in 13th place, eleven points behind the leaders and six points above 18th place, the spot currently held by Genoa, who leads Serie B.
Atalanta is the fourth Serie A club who changed coaches this season after Juventus (Igor Tudor replaced by Luciano Spalletti), Genoa (Patrick Vieira replaced by Daniele De Rossi) and Fiorentina (Stefano Pioli succeeded by Paolo Vanoli).
