Gaza’s health ministry said on Thursday that more than 46,000 Palestinians have been killed in the war between Israel and Hamas, with no end in sight to the 15-month conflict.
The ministry announced that a total of 46,006 Palestinians were killed and 109,378 wounded. He claims that women and children make up more than half of those killed, but does not state how many were fighters or civilians.
The Israeli army claims to have killed more than 17,000 Palestinian fighters, without providing evidence. He blames Hamas for their deaths, while stating that its fighters operate from residential areas.
Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians are now crammed into tent camps along the coast with limited access to food and other necessities. Israel has also repeatedly attacked, as it claims, armed fighters hiding in shelters and hospitals, often killing women and children, the Associated Press reports.
