The senior tennis team of Bosnia and Herzegovina will play the match of the first world group of the Davis Cup competition against the domestic selection of New Zealand on February 7 and 8 in Whangarei (New Zealand).
The Davis Cup competition is the only official team world tennis championship, where our best senior tennis team takes a high 30th place in the ranking of the best tennis teams in the world. Tennis players from Bosnia and Herzegovina had the first part of their preparations in the New Zealand city of Auckland from January 30 to February 2 in order to better adapt to the twelve-hour time zone difference and recover from the long journey.
After that, the team arrived in Whangarei, and started with the final preparations for the upcoming matches.
Coach Zoran Zrnić will have the following players at his disposal: Andrej Nedić, Mirza Bašić, Tomislav Brkić and Vladan Tadić. The New Zealand team will feature: James Watt, Ajeet Rai, Anton Shepp, Isaac Becroft and Finn Reynolds.
In case of victory over the selection of New Zealand, Bosnia and Herzegovina. tennis players would ensure survival in the First World Group of the best tennis teams in the world. In case of defeat according to the rules of the Davis Cup competition, BH. the team will play a play-off match in September for survival in the First World Group.
