The basketball players of the current champions Oklahoma City Thunder achieved their 13th consecutive victory in the NBA league, after defeating the Golden State Warriors last night in San Francisco with a score of 124:112.
The team from Oklahoma is now 21:1, which represents the second best start to the season in the history of the competition. The Thunder leads both the overall league standings and the Western Conference. Only the Warriors had a better start to the 2015/16 season, recording 24 straight victories.
The team led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is considered capable of surpassing Golden State’s record season (73 wins and nine losses) from a decade ago.
Against Golden State, which was playing without star Stephen Curry, it looked like the Thunder would routinely come away victorious. However, they lost a 19-point lead from the first half. In the third quarter, the Warriors reduced the deficit to only three points (88:91), and in the last quarter they even took the lead.
In the decisive moments, Gilgeous-Alexander took control again and led his team to its 13th consecutive victory. The Canadian was the best scorer of the match with 38 points.
