Thirteen of the best athletes, potential candidates for participation in the Olympic Games “Los Angeles 2028”, signed contracts with the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina (OKBiH), which provided them with scholarships with the aim of qualifying and preparing as well as possible for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.
The OKBiH provided financial support for 13 athletes in the amount of 1,160 KM per month for three years, which amounts to about 542,000 KM in total.
The support is intended for athletes from various sports, including athletics, taekwondo, swimming, judo, weightlifting, tennis and archery.
OKBiH, as a non-budgetary user, operates exclusively through projects, providing support to the best athletes and young hopefuls.
In addition to this, it will launch Program+, additional support for those who achieve top results and win medals at world and European competitions, with the aim of preparing for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
From this umbrella sports institution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, they called on the relevant ministries and local authorities to create similar programs so that athletes receive timely support and achieve top results, instead of expecting medals without investing in sports, announced the OKBiH.
