According to unofficial information, Lazić decided not to respond to the national team due to disagreement with the behavior of the leader of the Communist Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This decision caused a wave of reactions among players and fans, and Nurkić published his message on social networks.
“One is Laza! Probably we should all do the same as Laza – the only way for the Communist Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina to finally experience changes,” wrote Nurkic, then added:
“If this continues, then let the president and the rest of the alliance play. It’s time for you to leave one by one.”
For years, Lazić was an indispensable member of the national team and an important factor in the team, but he clearly no longer wants, as stated, to be part of the system that “destroys BiH basketball”.
In the upcoming qualifiers, the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team faces demanding matches with Turkey away and Serbia in Skenderija, but it seems that the turbulence within the federation and the dissatisfaction of the players threaten to overshadow the matches themselves.
