The mayor of Cetinje offered to take over all the costs of repairing the vehicles of Croatian fans that were attacked by hooligans on the way to Podgorica, saying that the friendship between Montenegro and Croatia cannot be damaged by individual incidents.
A group of Croatian fans who were attacked by hooligans on the road between Budva and Cetinje on Sunday evening, the day before the match between Montenegro and Croatia, received good news, as well as friendly gesture of the local authorities. Namely, the mayor of Cetinje Nikola Đurašković announced that he would offer compensation for vehicle damage to Croats.
The municipality of Cetinje will, if it is acceptable to the citizens of Croatia who were attacked yesterday, assume all the costs of repairing the damage caused to their vehicles. I announced this last night during the conversation with the citizens of Croatia, and I repeat it because of the fundraising initiatives that have been launched, wrote the head of the former royal city, and added:
The friendship between Montenegro and Croatia and the citizens of our countries is strong and has been confirmed many times and cannot possibly be violated by anyone’s bad intentions or actions.
Croats in a van with Split registrations were allegedly attacked by a group of Delijas from Montenegro and none of them were injured. The windows and mirrors of the vehicle were broken. The police met the largest group of ultras on Monday afternoon and escorted them to the stadium in Podgorica, reports 24 Hour.
