– I’m in the club, if necessary, and the director, driver, coach … This is the crown of my training career so far. In Neum, I run three selections, plus our senior team. Despite the fact that we do not have an indoor pool and we cannot train throughout the year, we record increasing successes. During the winter we travel in Trebinje and the result is visible. We have three guys who entered the national team among the 15 and bravely played the tournament. The whole neum can be proud. We travel to Trebinje three hours in one direction to train. I am grateful to my friend Nikola Ljeskovic and the directory of the pool in Trebinje, which enabled us to train two hours. The road does not pay off without two hours of training. When you see a satisfied child smile, everything is easy. You know how to do the right thing and nothing is hard – continuing Njavro.
As he points out, he is grateful for tonight’s greeting and celebration, and he adds that the club is mostly funded thanks to the local community led by the Mayor Dragan Jurković.
– We finance almost 90% from the municipal budget. We provide as much as we have money, and, of course, there are donors and sponsors. Each day they grow costs and every year is more challenging. However, it is much easier when people understand what the water polo means and all members and everyone helps in their capabilities. I can’t mention our former President Ivan Lakić, who always helps us and for accommodation of teams coming in Neum. There is also Tomislav Lovrić, and the two of them are forefronted. It has also provided financial support to us a famous entrepreneur and humanitarian Djemila Talić Gabriel, which helps sports and cultural collectives in Neum in different ways. There are also “Hifa Petrol”, “Judik” … All hotels are also helping “Jadran” in their capabilities.
