The group stage will be played from September to November 2026, and the elimination part from March to June 2027. 54 national teams participate in the competition in four strong divisions (A, B, C and D). Bosnia and Herzegovina is placed in division B.

The draw for the League of Nations groups will take place in Brussels on February 12, 2026. From the groups, the teams that are in first and second place at the end of the group stage are placed in the knockout phase. The last-placed team in the group is relegated from the second to the third division.
This is the fifth season in which the League of Nations has been held. Reigning champions Portugal beat Spain on penalties in June.
