The best of Bosnia and HerzegovinaCzech skier Elvedina Muzaferia has completed preparations for the new competitive season in the World Cup, in which she will make her first appearance in mid-December in the Swiss St. Moritz, in the races of fast disciplines.
New season for Bosnia and Herzegovina. the skier also brings Olympic significance because in February 2026 she will represent Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Winter Olympic Games in Cortina and Milan.
The President of the Ski Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Samir Smajić, said at today’s press conference at the BiH Olympic Committee that Muzaferija is probably the most important season in his career.
– Preparations went according to plan, so Elvedina enters the season fully prepared. He will perform at the World Cup, followed by the Winter Olympics. We expect better results from her than last year – said Smajić.
Muzaferia stated that the last season was physically and mentally very difficult for her, because I spent most of it injured, which is why she took a short break.
– I have been in full training since May, first in France, and then for two months in Chile, where we worked on fast disciplines. It helped me regain my confidence – said Muzaferia.
She mentioned that next week she will travel to Austria for final preparations, and on December 1st she plans to compete in the European Cup in giant slalom, as a prelude to the start of the World Cup on December 12th in St. Moritz. He is hoping for a season with similar results to two years ago.
– A special focus will be on the Olympic Games, but also on getting back in shape, which allows me to fight for points in the World Cup – she said.
She added that the super giant slalom will continue to be her main discipline, but that she will try to improve her results in the giant slalom as well.
– Super-G is my primary discipline, but I plan to dedicate myself more to technical disciplines in order to improve my FIS points. In the super giant slalom, I should start among the top 30, and in the downhill between 30th and 35th place – explained Muzaferia and added that this season many experienced competitors could focus exclusively on the Olympic performance, which could be an opportunity for younger skiers to achieve a better ranking.
