Italian tennis player Lorenzo Musetti reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam tournament of the year, after defeating American Taylor Fritz in the round of 16 with 6-2, 7-5, 6-4.
Musetti will play against in the quarter-finals Novak Djokovica ten-time winner of the Melbourne tournament. Djokovic jumped over the hurdle in the round of 16 without a fight, the Czech Jakub Menšik surrendered the match due to an abdominal muscle injury.

In the Italian showdown, Sinner defeated 22nd seed Luciano Darderi with 6-1, 6-3, 7-6(2) and now he will face the winner of the match between American Ben Shelton and Norwegian Casper Ruud.
Sinner opened the match against Darderi with 5-0, and in the opening two sets, he took away his opponent’s serve twice in each section.
A completely equal game flared up only in the third set, which went all the way to a tie-break. Darderi opened it with 2-0, but then Sinner won seven points in a row for a new celebration.
