Mirza is heavily preparing for the new season. New competitions and new races have just started, and this 24-year-old gave us an insight into the course of preparations and everything that awaits him this winter season.
“So far, the preparations are going great. I’ve already been to the new track in Cortina, and this season the biggest focus will be on that track, because of the Olympic Games.”
“As far as preparations are concerned, given that this is only my third week and the very beginning of the season, I can’t say that the hardest part is behind me, because in the coming period, training and races await me, specifically on tracks in America. On one track I have a total of ten rides, and on the other track I have never driven before.”
There is always room for improvement, a Mirza points out that he wants to finish the races in Germany, Latvia and Austria with the best possible results.
“For the races that await me in Germany, Latvia and Austria, I hope to improve the result compared to last year.”
And considering that the goal and dream of every athlete is to perform at the Olympic Games, our luger also hopes to go to the Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.
“I expect to qualify for the Winter Olympics, but I don’t want to think too much about it because, honestly, I sled best when I’m relaxed.”
