Representatives of the Coalition Organization of Persons with Zenica-Doboj Canton, President of the Paraplegic Association Zenica Samira Đidić, visited the Minister of Physical Planning, Transport and Communications and Environmental Protection of Zenica – Doboj Canton.
Development of “Accessibility Strategy for Persons with Disabilities in Zenica – Doboj Canton 2025-2030.” It was the main topic of today’s conversation, which according to Aliefendić, continuing a good cooperation of the organization of people with disabilities of ZDK and Minister for Spatial Planning, Transport and Communications and Environmental Protection.
– Vampanist in 2024. year, the first time in the budget of this Ministry as end users introduced persons with disabilities in such a way that it provided funds for the removal of architectural barriers in cities and municipalities. Unfortunately, a large part of the funds of close to 250,000 KM secured through this project, local communities were not intended or almost in no way. By drafting the strategy, cities and municipalities, they would receive a form of instructions to deal with the problems of persons with disabilities, here to remove architectural barriers, enabling the internal station and public information and the active involvement of the decision-making process – Aliefendić pointed out.
In case the strategy receives the Assembly and the Government of the Zenica – Doboj Canton, in which Minister Shabani does not doubt, and where he promised each form of support, the CCR would become the first unit with this for persons with disabilities, a strategically important document.
– With the difference of some officials performing the most adhere functions in cities and municipalities that only declaratively advocate for this population, concrete works, and in every other way I will support the creation of better living conditions in the cantonal space, including wider. It is a pleasure to be the function of humanity and help that organizations that bring people with disabilities receive an institutional stronghold at the local level and cooperate with urban and municipal administrations. It is important that in the budgets of local governments, we receive the code and at least minimal funds to support people with disabilities. In this way, it will be possible to monitor how often the authorities cared to the inclusion of people with disabilities. Inclusion is precisely involving the active participation of persons with disabilities in society, with the removal of obstacles that prevent them – Minister Sabana said.
It was concluded that both parties will continue the maximum engagement in order to become an inclusive society in which all persons with disabilities will have equal opportunities for physical space, information, services and employment, and actively participate in social life.
