The lowest salary in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in 2025. year remains far below the real costs of life. In the Federation of BiH, it is 1,000 KM, while the new differentiated system was introduced in the Republika Srpska where minimals range from 900 to 1,300 KM, depending on the expertise.
At the same time, the union consumer basket for the Four-member family in July cost 3,202,70 KM. This means that the minimum covers only about 31% of the basic monthly costs, and even the average salary in the Federation of BiH reaches only half.
The government of the FBiH at the end of last year, made the decision that the lowest salary for 2025. Is 1,000 km net. Although this increase compared to earlier years, the gap towards life costs is huge – more than 2,200 km is missing that four-member families could cover basic needs.
The Republika Srpska introduced a new model – non-qualified workers receive 900 KM, a three-year-old school employees, with a four-year-old 1,000 KM, while the highest minimum of 1,300 KM is provided for those with higher and high expertise. However, even this largest figure does not cover half of the union consumer basket.
The union consumer basket from the month of the month is growing: in May 3,178 km, in June 3,180 km, and in July 3,200 km. Forbs BiH emphasizes that this basket is not a luxury, but the minimum costs of eating, housing, education and transportation.
In euros, the minimum salary in FBiH of 1,000 KM is worth around 511 euros, while the basket exceeds 1,630 euros.
Although the salary increases are an important step, the fact is that the minimum in BiH does not even cover what he would have – the basic costs of dignified life. While the union basket is growing faster than salaries, gap in budgets family is getting bigger, writes Noise.
