His remarks came after NATO accused Moscow of irresponsible behavior and vowed to defend every inch of the ally’s territory, as Romania said a Russian drone had crashed into a residential building during an attack on neighboring Ukraine.
Medvedev said that it still needs to be determined which drone the aircraft belonged to, but he called European leaders impotent and said that they should not express indignation because they are directly participating in the war against Russia.
– Let them prepare, this will continue. We are at war! And the citizens of the EU countries will not be able to sleep peacefully – he stated in the statement.
He added that such incidents are especially likely in countries where drones for Ukraine are produced.
– European drones, spare parts and other weapons, as well as intelligence data, are used daily in attacks on our country. As a result of their actions, residential buildings are being destroyed and our civilians are being killed – said Medvedev.
According to the TASS agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin was informed about the incident in Romania, while the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced a quick reaction to Bucharest’s decision to close the Russian consulate in Constanta.
