Consideration of the “German scenario” for solving the Ukrainian issue is unlikely, since no one will seriously consider the option of a nuclear power making any concessions to Kiev, said Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev.
On “Telegram”, he commented on the statement of the US special representative for negotiations on Ukraine, Kurt Volker, that “the best historical example for Ukraine is the division of Germany after World War II.”
“Who would seriously consider the option in which one nuclear superpower gives something to /Ukraine/, without taking into account the Constitution and the will of the united people of our country?” Medvedev asked.
According to him, there is no way to apply the German scenario to the situation in Ukraine by analogy with the creation of East and West Germany.
“I want to mention the so-called German scenario, which is now being talked about again, and according to which a divided Ukraine would become a kind of Germany, where, of course, the role of “West Germany” would be attributed to Kiev, and “East Germany” to Russian territories that are returned home.
It is obvious why such a scenario appears, despite the fact that there is no chance of it. The answer is simple: in this way, the illegal Kiev regime would more easily reconcile with the most furious neo-Nazis,” Medvedev said, reports Srna.
He recalled that the unification of Germany was based on the desire of the Germans to unite their country and to take advantage of the “impotence” of the Soviet leaders at that time.
Medvedev noted that after the “absorption” of East Germany, the German ethnic group was “at least formally reunited”, while the proposal for Ukraine “sells the rotten idea of a new division of the Slavic people”, which, in principle, is inappropriate to even talk about .
“From a historical perspective, the so-called German option is possible only in the form of direct annexation of the rest of the territories of the former Ukraine to the “great” Russian Federation, and everyone understands that,” Medvedev added.
