Unfortunately, this football spectacle will pass without the fans of the visiting team, the popular Maniacs.
The club from Grbavice announced this in a statement, which we are transcribing in its entirety:
“The decision of FK Sarajevo on the capacity and price of tickets for FK Željezničar fans is against the Rulebook of NS/FS BiH, fans of Željezničar will not attend the derby
FK Željezničar informs the entire public about the decision of FK Sarajevo, which is against the Rulebook on Security of NS/FS BiH. Namely, FK Sarajevo has secured 1,500 tickets for the upcoming derby at a price of 20 KM intended for fans of FK Željezničar.
Such a decision is not in accordance with the Rulebook on security at NS/FS BiH matches. According to Article 10 of this Rulebook, the club-organizer of the match is obliged, at the request of the visiting club, to provide at least 5% of the total capacity of the stadium, in a separate and safe zone intended exclusively for visiting fans. If the separate zone occupies more than 5% of the capacity, the host is obliged to make that larger number of places available.
Bearing in mind the capacity of the Koševo stadium, FK Sarajevo is obliged to provide a complete south stand for FK Željezničar fans because it is physically separated from the east and west stands.
Article 15 of the Rules clearly states that, unless the clubs agree otherwise, the price of tickets for away fans must not be higher than the price of tickets of the same or similar quality sold to home fans.
FK Sarajevo has announced ticket prices for the other stands: north 8 KM, east 12 KM, west 15 KM. It is generally known that the southern stand is of the same or similar quality as the other stands, which is why the price of 20 KM for the southern stand is contrary to the rules of NS/FS BiH.
After discussions with the representatives of the Fan Association of FK Željezničar – The Maniacs, the joint decision is that FK Željezničar will return the tickets to FK Sarajevo and that our fans will not attend Sunday’s derby.
On this occasion, we also confirm that the Club has sent an official letter to the Competition and Disciplinary Commission of NS/FS BiH, regarding the actions of FC Sarajevo against the rules of NS/FS BiH. Considering that FK Sarajevo also had this kind of omission in 2023, and subsequently delivered a certain number of tickets after the decision of the Competition Commission, we expect an adequate reaction due to the repetition of the violation.
