After several months of investigation carried out by the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tuzla Canton, this morning police officers, acting on the Order of the Cantonal Court in Tuzla and under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of Tuzla Canton, conducted searches at seven locations in the area of Živinice, Banovići and Kalesija.
Members of the Tuzla Canton MUP Police Department arrested Inspector Kalesi Besim Klopić of the Police Department, Chief of the Criminal Police Department of the Živinica Police Department Miralem Halilović, police officers from the Živinica Police Department Jasmin Modrić and Dževad Požegić. Zijad Jagodić, a former state representative and university professor from Živinice, was also arrested in the operation.
As we have learned, the police action is directed against persons who are suspected of being involved in luring minors into prostitution. Among the minors, there are also several residents of the shelter, which is part of the Home for Children Without Parental Care in Tuzla.
˝Seven persons were deprived of their liberty, four of whom are police officers of the Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the TK, and due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they have committed a criminal offense under Article 210a of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Trafficking in Human Beings. These are the following persons: BK (1974), Dž.P. (1970), JM (1995), MH (1979), NA (1984), ZJ (1964), S.Š. (1958)˝, it was announced from the Police Administration of the MUP of TK.
