French President Emmanuel Macron announced that France would send three combat aircraft to “help protect the Polish airspace”, after Warsaw accuses Russia for attacking unmanned spacecraft on her territory.
– After Russian incidents with drones in Poland, I decided to send three battle planes of Rafale to help protect the Polish airspace and the eastern front of Europe with our NATO allies – Macron on XU.
– I conveyed this decision to the Polish Prime Minister. I also discussed this issue with NATO Secretary General and British Prime Minister, who is also involved in the protection of the eastern front – he added.
Macron pointed out: “We will not give in front of the growing threats of Russia,” emphasizing how diplomatic efforts to end the war of Russia against Ukraine.
Poland gathered their NATO allies on the urgent talks on Wednesday after announcing that Russian drones entered the Polish airspace during the attack on Ukraine.
The Polish airspace was injured 19 times, and at least three drones were down after Poland and its allies raised airplanes.
NATO and the European Union marked this attack as “unheard of” in Poland. Moscow denied that she was targeted to attack Poland.
The British Prime Minister Keir Starmer discussed the incident with Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. In a statement, the British government stated that the leaders condemned a “shocking violation” of the airspace of Poland and NATO.
The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting today to discuss the attack by drone with drones, at the request of Poland.
