Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium must be neutralized and placed under the supervision of the UN nuclear energy agency, French President Emmanuel Macron said on Monday.
– We will ensure that the remaining capacities of enriched uranium are properly neutralized – Macron said after US President Donald Trump announced the agreement with Iran.
Sensitive stockpiles should be “either removed or diluted” and then looked after by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Macron said.
France and Great Britain are ready to deploy to Hormuz after the US-Iran deal, Macron claims.
France and Britain are ready to lead a mission in the Strait of Hormuz with the support of the Netherlands and Italy to help reopen the sea route after the deal agreed by the US and Iran becomes a reality, the French leader said.
The mission could be deployed within two or three days, he added.
Macron said that reopening the Strait of Hormuz to shipping would be against international law, reports AFP.
