Macron announced himself on the X social network, where he pointed out that he and Trump discussed the situation in the Middle East in detail.
“I commended the determined efforts he is leading to reach an agreement between the United States and Iran as soon as possible. It represents a unique opportunity to build a new security framework that would include all interested parties and allow for the lasting stabilization of the region,” the French president wrote.
Macron emphasized that Paris does not intend to remain silent, but is ready to take on an operational role on the ground as soon as an agreement between Washington and Tehran is reached.
“I stated that we are ready to fully support these efforts and take our share of responsibility in their implementation. This is exactly the purpose of the international mission that we have designed together with the British and our partners. It is ready to be deployed as soon as the agreement is concluded to contribute to securing maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz,” Macron revealed.
He added that France is ready to offer its expertise and military capabilities in the broader negotiations that must be opened, with a special emphasis on the nuclear aspect of the agreement. He concluded by praising Trump’s commitment to Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing the importance of a firm ceasefire and collective support for the Lebanese authorities.
