KS Serbia strongly condemns the “unacceptable behavior of part of the audience” during the game, especially the insults addressed to the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.

“The Basketball Federation of Serbia strongly condemns the unacceptable behavior of a part of the audience in the Mirza Delibašić hall in Sarajevo during the match Bosnia and Herzegovina – Serbia in the World Cup qualifiers.
We consider it shameful to whistle during the singing of the anthem of the Republic of Serbia, singing offensive nationalist songs, derogatory chants and messages of hate speech addressed to our national team and the state of Serbia and the president of our country, along with extremely offensive banners that have nothing to do with sports.
Such incidents represent a serious violation of sportsmanship, the value of fair play and international sports standards and must not be tolerated at any sporting event.
The Basketball Federation of Serbia expects the reaction of FIBA after the report of the delegates of the BiH – Serbia match in Sarajevo, as well as the reaction of the Basketball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Even in such circumstances, the Serbian national team showed professionalism, calmness and sportsmanship, which is why we are extremely proud. Our focus remains on the game, respect and values that basketball should promote.”
We would like to remind you that Serbia started the qualification cycle with two victories, since before BiH they also defeated Switzerland in Belgrade.
