Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić welcomed its Royal Highness to the Duchess of Edinburgh and thanked the visit to the special attention to the marking of the 30. The anniversary of the UN Bosniaks “Safe Zone” Srebrenica.
Gratitude is expressed by the Government and the Royal Family of the United Kingdom on the continuous interest and support provided by Bosnia and Herzegovina. Special gratitude is sent on the presence of its Royal Highness of the Duchess from Edinburgh by tomorrow’s celebration of the anniversary of genocide in Srebrenica, and the solidarity that is expressed in this way.
The Duchess of Edinburgh conveyed his Majesty of King Charles III, whose message will read on the marking of the 30th Genocide above Bosniaks “Safe Zone” Srebrenica.
She pointed out that the United Kingdom gives great importance to celebrating the anniversary of the memories of genocide victims. The Duchess, which is the Proponent of the Initiative to Prevent Sexual Violence in Conflict, will talk to families and victims in Srebrenica tomorrow, and emphasized the importance of this issue through direct support to the survivors and advocacy on the global level.
The topic of the meeting was both bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Kingdom, which were rated very good and friendly.

The Duchess of Edinburgh also visited the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH. 30 years after the war, the fate of more than 7,000 missing remains unknown. Challenges faced by families of missing in BiH and the Institute are great and require strong support of the highest state institutions.
