The Islamic community of Bosnia and Herzegovina has published a calendar in which the dates for Mubarak days and nights in 2025 are highlighted.
The first Mubarak night was last night, January 2 – Laylatu-r-regaib is the night in which mother Amina conceived God’s prophet Muhammad. In the people it is called the night of wishes, and it is marked by prayers, voluntary prayers, mevlud teaching and other God-pleasing contents.

At the end of January, the second Mubarek night, Laylatu’l-Miraj (January 26, 2025), arrives. This is the night, as it is believed in Islam, in which Muhammad, with God’s help, was raised to a place that no human before or after him had ever reached. It happened on the 27th night of the month of Rajab in the year 621.
“That night the Messenger of God was first carried from the Holy Temple in Mecca to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, and then raised through the various heavens to the Sidretu-l-muntehaa (Lotus above the seventh heaven) or even closer to the Most High. There, the Prophet met with some messengers, and he also talked with the Almighty God. The last two items of the chapter of Al-Baqarah were announced at the mirage, Muslims were ordered to pray five times a day, and as a memory of the conversation held at the mirage, the so-called ettehijat, at each sitting when performing the prayer. This day is also the Day of wakifs – those who leave their property as an endowment for the benefit of generations after them”, according to IZ.
Then comes the third Mubarak night, Laylatu’l-berat, on February 13: “The fifteenth night of the month of Sha’ban, the eighth month of the Hijri calendar, is the Mubarak night of Laylatu’l-barat. That night is celebrated as the night in which the angels begin to write the fate of humanity and each person individually for the coming year. It heralds the imminent arrival of the blessed month of Ramadan.”
And, according to this information, the first tarawiya is on the last day of February: with the evening time, the month of Ramadan begins, and the first tarawiya is prayed that same evening, which means that the first day of Ramadan is March 1, 2025 (Saturday). The month of Ramadan is a month of obligatory fasting for all adult, healthy Muslims. Fasting lasts for a month, from dawn to sunset, and this is the “third foundation of Islam”.
Lejletu-l-bedr – the commemoration of the Battle of Badr – will be celebrated on March 17, 2025, and Lejletu-l-kadr on March 26, 2025. Laylat al-Qadr is the night of the beginning of the revelation of the Qur’an, the last revelation that God sent to mankind. An entire chapter of the Qur’an is dedicated to this night. It is “a night better than a thousand months, and in it Angels and Jibril descend because of everyone’s decision”. In the Night of Qadr, Muslims pray for the forgiveness of their sins and the mercy of God in both worlds. The greatness of this night is contained in the revelation of the Qur’an, the greatest mercy ever bestowed.
When is the first day of Eid?
“The Islamic community has marked this night as the night of knowledge, science and education, and for this purpose, charity fundraising events for the educational institutions of the Islamic community are being organized,” it said.
The first day of Eid al-Fitr is Sunday, March 30. This Eid lasts for three days. On Eid, Muslims bathe, put on their best clothes, visit cemeteries, visit relatives, friends, neighbors, and give alms.
Eid al-Adha is June 6, 2025 (Friday), and the New Hijri year is June 26, 2025; Day of Ashura – Yevmu-l-Ashura is July 5, 2025.
